OMNY/Bee-Line

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has announced that MetroCard sales will officially end on Dec. 31, 2025, as the tap-and-go OMNY payment system becomes the primary fare payment method. In alignment with this transition, Westchester County’s Bee-Line Bus System will also adopt OMNY, with additional details to be shared in the coming months. MetroCards will remain an accepted fare payment into early 2026, as the transition to the OMNY system is fully implemented. In addition, cash payments will continue to be collected on Bee-Line.

The OMNY system allows riders to tap and pay directly using contactless credit and debit cards, digital wallets or OMNY cards. Customers who prefer to pay with cash can purchase and reload OMNY cards at retail locations, online, or at OMNY vending machines.

Details on when OMNY will be fully available on Bee-Line buses will be announced later this year. Riders are encouraged to stay informed by checking this page for updates.

Until Bee-Line accepts payments via the new system, OMNY fares cannot be recognized as valid transfers on Bee-Line. All Bee-Line passengers who regularly transfer to/from New York City Transit buses and subways should continue to use MetroCard until OMNY is officially introduced on the Bee-Line Bus System.

During this transition period, some MetroCard products like EasyPay Pay Per-Ride cards have been discontinued. If you have received a letter from MTA indicating that your MetroCard will no longer be accepted and have questions, call (914) 813-7777 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. it's Smart

Westchester’s Smart Commute program was created to inform commuters and their employers of various strategies to increase the use of mass transit alternatives in order to help reduce drive-alone commuting, thereby reducing their carbon footprints.  Watch our Smart Commute video.
